Do any of you have a friend who collects too? I'm not talking about online friends, but someone near by who you attend shows with or talk collecting cards with.

Being up here in the sticks of Maine, collectors are few and far between. One friend recently got the bug again and is buying Yankees cards and autographs. It's nice having someone I can talk about the hobby with and someone I can drag along to shows with me.

How about you all, any collector friends?

I wish I had a friend that collected. There were a few guys I would hang at the local card shop with. But that shop closed and I never see them any more.

I do have a guy that I go to the big Chicago card shows with.

Nothing here either. Used to be guys I'd meet at shows all the time back in the day, but those days are LONG gone.

Same here, have plenty of friends that I share other collecting interests with but no card friends.

All of my collecting buddies grew out of collecting when we were teenagers. There was a pretty large group of us that hung out at the card shop in our neighborhood. It was ran from the converted garage of an older gentleman, but he had a lot of business and contracts with all of the major card producers of the time.

Dropped a lot of allowance money in there every Friday.
