Hey Guys,

I was wondering why it seems to be that all the auction prices are through the roof on psa graded cards. I recently bought a 1956 Topps Mantle (GB) for about 1,100 and it says i lost money for the book price. I also bought a few other cards like a 1975 George Brett. I am wondering why they are all priced high or is that where the market is at right now.

Thanks

Condition is the key....if the mantle is a 6.5 or higher you got a good deal...this is why vcp is so valuable it gives you the average price and shows you the condition of the cards...good luck and welcome to the boards

This is a good site to use to get an idea of the price you should be paying.

Well, you still need to look at all the auction prices below the price they list on VCP, there could be errors that would effect the "expected price"

For example look at a 1963 Topps Whitey Ford PSA 7 card...There is a Norm Cash that sold for 10 bucks included in there that drops the avg...

I love VCP, but you still need to do some investigation ....
