Why does the 1972 topps football set have such a high stated book value?

I am not a football card guy but by doing some looking it is the first year that Topps went over 300 cards in the set to 351 and it does not hurt that 82 of the cards have a Hall of Famer on it.

The high number are brutal. Very hard to find. High numbers are 264-351 and commons book at $18 each and there are a bunch of $30 cards. Plus a few stars that book at much more.

Good luck if you are going to try and put it together.

Hey Bobby.

As a baseball guy how did you come up with that 82 number so quickly? Is there a VCP search that would provide that info?

The columns on the set page are sortable so click on the HOF one and they will all line up, then I had it set for 25 players for page and clicked on the next one until I no longer saw the symbols and made a fast count from there.

Hey. I just tried to do this but I don't see the HOF column.

Also there is not an option "add set" to collection.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

You are here?

http://www.vintageca...alue-Prices.htm

Then on the top of set it goes Card#, Bid, Bin, Player Name, Prices, HOF...you can click on these and it resorts the list all except Bin & Bid to be more accurate.

Look on the right side under Football Card Set: 1972 Topps, you should see "Add Set to MY Want List" and right under that is "Add Set to MY Collection"

I just searched "1972 topps" and got a page not as complete as the one you just showed me. Obviously I need to search a different way.

You need to use the Set Name Search field toward the bottom. sounds like you are using the Keyword search.

Ok. I just got it. I originally searched under "key words", not "sets" > "topps" > "1972"

Thanks for the help...
