Has anyone had any good experiences with GAI "first graded" cards in the early days of their business? I have a GAI 9 Willie Mays rookie (1951 Bowman) and a GAI 8.5 Joe Jackson (1940 Play Ball). Both have "1st graded " on them. I bought them from another collector years ago and I've never tried a cross-over grading simply because I have seldom seen it work. From all inspection, (black light, halogen light, jeweler's loupe, measurements, ect.) they look right. Any ideas or comments.

You could always send them in for a review still in the case. I would send them to sgc first since their turn around time is very quick. Good luck

If your intentions are to sell them I would use a high end auction house and let them take a look at it. They have a good working relationship with the graders and would have a better chance of getting them crossed over then you.
