I'm trying to determine the best way to handle/hold cards that are fresh from a pack. I've referring to cards that are generally pre-1982 or so.

I've been handling them on the front and back. Was wondering if it's better to hold them on the sides. Any ideas on the best way to handle fresh cards? I want to keep them in the best possible condition before submitting them for grading.

Thanks!!

Think you are fine, holding them on the edges or on the sides staying away from the middle is always best.

Thanks! So continue to hold it from front to back, but doing it closer to the edge of the card instead of the middle. Is that what you are saying?

IMO just make sure your hands (fingers) are clean! May sound weird, but I have seen cards with fingerprints on them.

Just make sure you have washed your hand really good first, oil from hands is bad, and ensure you grade them yourselves first I have submitted pack fresh 80 topps and they all came back as a 7 when i was almost sure they were an 8-9.

Surface issues are normally the only difference in a 5 and 8.
